When ordering New York City DOT Overdimensional Truck Permits, the following rules, regulations and notes apply:

New York City DOT cut-off time for a move the same day is 12:00pm.Cuttoff for us is 11:45am so we have to time to type up permit request along with the paperwork needed (surveys). No exceptions to this rule. It is not our rule, it's DOT's rule.

As per New York City DOT, there are no amendments or cancellations permitted.

NYC DOT also requires a permit for anything OVER 8ft wide and/or 55ft in length. This applies to all trailors, empty or loaded. Please make sure you know the exact dimensions of the load you are hauling. DOT is now requiring us to put that information on the permit application. They are also going to print the load description on the permits. SO please make sure you know exacly what you are hauling when ordering.

1 escort needed when:

- Vehicles are OVER 11ft wide AND/OR OVER 65ft in length

2 Escorts needed when:

- Vehicles are OVER 14ft wide AND/OR OVER 100ft in length AND/OR OVER 14ft high

Survey Required:

- OVER 12ft in width
- OVER 80ft in length
- OVER 120,000 lbs in weight
- OVER 14ft in height

Geometric Survey Required When:

- 15ft wide and over
- 16ft high and over
- 130ft long and over
- 180,000 lbs and over

Daytime Travel Requirements:

- 10 wide or less (9-6 wide if crossing Verrazano Bridge or Throgsneck Bridge)
- 100,000lbs or less (80,000lbs if crossing Verrazano
Bridge or Throgsneck Bridge)
- 100ft long or less
- 14ft in height or less

Bridge letter needed when:
(Keep in mind bridge letters take 2-3 days to order.)

Throgsneck Bridge:

- Weight is OVER 80,000lbs

Triborough Bridge:

- Everytime you cross the bridge regardless of your overall dimensions

Verrazano Bridge:

- Weight is OVER 80,000lbs
- Width is OVER 12ft
- Height is OVER 15ft
